Very new to reloading, at this point trying to just get my brass processed.  Converting .223 to 300 BLK.  All cases have been cut, and now I am resizing them.  Using a Sheridan slotted gauge, I cannot quite get the shoulder low enough to pass the max chamber dimension.  How do I adjust my dies to lower the shoulder? Using Lee Pacesetter dies.  I looked in all my books, and can't find the info.  Thanks!

Have you checked to see if they will chamber in your rifle? Raise the press ram up to the top, screw the sizing die in until it touches the shellholder, lower the ram and screw your die inward about another 1/8 turn. This will take up any slack in the press mechanism and give you cam over and maximum amount of shoulder push back. If this doesn't work, I've read where some people are having trouble with the Lee sizing die not being able to push the shoulder back enough. Most common fixes for a die that will not size enough is number one, send it back to Lee for replacement, or grind or sand the shellholder top a few thousandths so the die can push farther, and some have ground or sanded the mouth of the sizing die which will let it push farther. Hope you can just turn the die in 1/8 turn to have firmer contact with the shellholder.

I set the die exactly as you stated.  I will try shaving the shell holder.  Thanks for the info.

Try the easy way first, lube the inside of the neck when sizing to keep the shoulder stretch down

I did this too, and was still having the issue.  I just sanded the face of the shell holder and now it is gauging perfectly.
