I currently have a load worked up for hornady 180gr sst. Running match rifle primer, 40 gr of TAC in hornady match cases. I can't find the sst's in stock anywhere. Could I switch bullets to the 180 smk's and still be safe? I know they are the same weight, but I don't know if the difference in mfg would be an issue.

Rule is to drop down 10% and work it back up. Differing lengths, bearing surfaces, etc can impact pressure...it is not just weight.

Just what I need to know. I will drop back and work up a load for the smk. Good to have bullet options anyway. Lol.

Just curious, what caliber? 308?

Work your load back up, but no need to do more than a couple of rounds at each step until you get within a grain of you previous "worked up to load".

Yeah, 308. I'm only going to do 3 of each in .5 grain increments.
As soon as I get re established with smk 's, I'm sure the Sst's will magically show up.

There are, but I'm not sure of dimensions. I would think they are the same, but could be different lengths.
