| Does anyone have an awesome idea of sorting 45 acp small/large primrs? I'm bug eyed and question myself sometimes. |

Quoted: There are a number of people dedicated to loading SPP .45 brass. I've traded all sorts of things for the stuff I picked up... Rifle brass, .357mag, and LPP .45... They want it to consolidate primers. No problem for me. I want LPP, because I find more of it. I recently started reloading for 45 and am thankful for every piece of SPP I find. I have a healthy stash of small primers and haven't been able to buy/find large primers anywhere. Just burned through the last of the large primers I managed to score so its SPP brass or factory ammo for me.

I have Blazer and Fed in SP. For me the only one's that are a little difficult to tell are the Blazer with LARGE pockets, which visually look a little smaller than other LP brass, but are not. Compare them side by side with a good pair of glasses you can tell.
It is easy to distinguish the Win, Fed, RP, PMC, S&B, GFL, IMI, CBC etc LP brass from the Fed and Blazer SP brass, not even close in size visually. |

I didn't have a reamer handy, so I grabbed a drill bit that was larger than the small primer and smaller than the large primer. If the bit fits, it's a large primer. If it doesn't fit, it is a small primer. Low tech and free (if you have drill bits).
Note: Turn the bit around. No need to poke your brass with the sharp end. |

I get thrown off by the size of the lettering. Big letters with a large primer leaves zero room, then sometimes the lettering is really small and it makes the large primer look smaller.
I still save the small primer brass, I thought about only loading it up for matches where I can't pick up my brass afterwords
I know, I know... first world problems and all that. |

Save and sell... Eventually my pile of trade out brass gets pretty big. A few months ago I sold off thousands of once fired brass I didn't need, collected over 20 years... It pays to hoard brass! Even before I started reloading I saved most everything I could. Ended up with quite a "starter" kit

I just did 2000 in a matter of minutes. |
