Didnt know where else to ask this. I traded a guy for a SAW ammo can full of mixed 22lr it is kind of dirty there was no top on the can. Can I safely run this thru my tumbler with corn cob media in it to clean it up?

It's not a good idea, the projectiles are wax coated.  Tumbling will remove the wax.  When fired without the wax coating, they will lead your barrel.

Do you know what's on them?

I would be hesitant to subject any loaded rounds to the vibration and banging associated with a tumbler...  The fact that the primer is completely exposed on rimfire rounds certainly makes this a bit more risky.  Will you ever get a hit hard enough to set one off?  Probably not...but is it worth it?  Not to me.  If the ammo runs fine, who cares if it is shiny.

Not a real good idea, after all they are rimfire and can go off by just droping them.
If one goes off, so will more, like popcorn
Personally, I WON"T shoot a 22 RL thats gotten dirty, it scores the barrel, ask me how I know.

Post a pic of what you call dirty.

Don't tumble, could put some Hoppe's #9 on a rag and wipe them off.

Another reason not to tumble rimfire ammo....

The priming compound is "spun" into the rim and vibration tends to dislodge it, leading to more "dud" rounds.
