I purchased some CCI small pistol and small rifle magnum primers because thats all that was available.
I want to use them with 9mm/700x powder and 223/H335 powder What do I do? Use the starting load? From the reading I have done it appears that there is very little difference between a mag and normal primer. If your at the high end of the load range you should back down a bit but a starting load should be fine. PS: I dont own any Glocks |
| My .223 "plinking" load uses CCI 41's and H335. I loaded test rounds of varying weights starting at 23.0 to 25.0. They all cycled my 14.7 just fine but you could tell the lower charges were weak. I settled on 25gr. Was getting 1-1.5 inch groups using Hornady 55's. Alot of people have success around the 25 grain mark with H335. Work up your own starting around the min and just check the signs. |

If you already have an accurate/preferred load developed, I'd reduce it by 1 grain and then work back up with the new primers in 0.1gr increments.
I found that with H335, the difference between my CCI 400 and CCI 450 loads was about 0.2-0.3 grains to achieve similar accuracy, YMMV. |
