Well, I finally came across a bottle of this powder locally after a few months of searching on and off. Loaded up 30 rounds of 55gr FMJ'a mixed lot Winchester / Hornady, 26.0gr CFE223, Federal Small Rifles Primers.
Fired from a Bushmaster Carbon 15A3 Fullsize Rifle, Think M16A2 except for ther CF receivers. 20"HBAR 1/7" Iron Sights Fired 60 rounds total. 30 Factory loaded XM193, and 30 CFE223 loads. I battle sight zeroed the rifle, then properly did a 300m zero at 25m with the xm193 Moved over to the 100m range which according to ballistic calculator the rounds should have been 4" high. Which they were. The first 3 shot groups of 3 all landed in a group about 2". I switched over to the CFE223 loads. Which shot about 3" higher than the factory loads, adjusted the sights accordingly, and fired 4 shot groups of 3 that all landed within 1.5" In review: 55gr FMJ 26.0 CFE223 LC Brass Federal SRP 1.5" Open Sights at 100m Meters like water Has that amazing M16 range day smell we all love from BCT after you fire about 5 rounds 10/10 Would buy and use again |
