Im a bit confused so bear with me. I ordered the Lee Precision kit , and from what im seeing the case trimmer looks to be a lot of work. For a beginner like me should I stick with it and save some money. Or, should I find something else? Im loading .223 and .308 btw.

do you mean like a lot of work to trim all the brass?

How many rounds are you shooting? I have the Lee zip trimmers, they work. If you are loading up a couple 20 boxes a week it will do fine. If you are prepping a hundred cases or more each week a nice lathe type trimmer is awesome and saves the carpal tunnel pain.
I have the Lyman universal and it trims .223 to the tune of 5-6 cases a minute, with the hand crank. I'll never settle for less after trimming a hundred cases in a row with it, a piece of cake.

Maybe 100 at most on a weekend. Depends on if supplies start getting back in stock though.

I bought This one and I cranked out a trimmed piece of .223 every 5-7 seconds...but I used my hip to open and close the lathe cutting head and had both hands free, im sure if you used  your hand to operate the lever it would go slower.....but my wife saw how much it costed and insisted the redding trimmer I had was good enuff...least I got all 3k pieces of .223 trimmed before I returned it!!

Many years ago I bought the Lyman Universal Chuck trimmer and got the extra drill adapter bar to run my drills on it and it's been fine.

If you don't mind cranking with the handle for a few hundred cases then fine, but most trimmers allow the drill adapters and they cut down of the time.

Depends on how much trimming you are going to do is the answer.

A lathe type trimmer is a nice step up if you want easier trimming.
