Looking to get a digital caliper for case measurements and such.  Has anyone tried these Neiko ones?

Neiko Calipers

or should I shell out more for something like these:

Personally I prefer a dial over digital, but if it were digital I'd spend the money on a quality Mitutoyo.

I've been using a set of Kobalt brand ones from Lowes.  They work great for all I need them for.

I have had good results with the Harbor Freight digital caliper,

Harbor Freight caliper

They are not the quality of a professional caliper like the MItutoyo, but I have been satisfied with mine.  The are accurate and repeatable.  They are often on sale for $9.99 at the local stores.

The Neiko and the Harbor Freight look just like the Hornady - maybe all the same, different branding.

I have the Hornady, they work, but the sliding portion runs rough.  I prefer the General brand from Home Depot for about $30.  They work a little smoother and just seem easier.  They also read in fractions where the Hornady does not. (for purposes other than reloading).

I quickly found out two or three of them are handy when you have case comparators, etc. attached to the blades of one and need to do a different, simple measurement.

Personally, I would not see the benefit of the $166 ones and would probably break or loose them anyway.

Don't bother dishing out the coin for the Mitutoyo.  You are not machining Boeing aircraft parts.  The Neiko calipers are very commonly OEM labeled through hundreds of brand and very accurate/reliable.  I currently have a set OEM by Hornady.  They have been going strong and accurate for the past 2.5 years.

For reloading, you don't need a machinist quality caliper unless you really want one.

I use a $20 caliper I got on sale at Midway. Works fine.

I picked up a $20 set from Autozone that works just fine.

I have the exact calipers you linked to. They work great and the build quality seems pretty good. I'm satisfied, especially for $15.

I use the Mitutoyo's myself. I work in the machinist field so quality instruments is a must.

I too have a Harbor Freight Brand.  Works great for me and cheap enough if I happen to break it, to replace with another one.   Keep eye for a coupon and and I believe you can get the for under $10.00.
