sorry but i can't find that tutorial showing the cleaning of powder parts, plus the part that shows making the bottom of the dropper smooth with dremel and polishing compound.
Can someone provide me the link? I looked above in the tagged areas, must be blind or in wrong place. - thanks |

Here is one. It might have links to others in it.

I have found that you don't have to polish the bottom of the casting mirror smooth to get good results. Save yourself 2-4 hours of work. Minwax a baffle and good technique is the key to a tuned PM.

lesson #1 - don't try to press your rifle rotor in. It screws up that little rubber o-ring. UGHHHHHH
lesson #2 - when you've been working hours and hours cleaning your dies and stuff, it might just be time for bed, don't do this crap tired and you won't break stuff. lesson # 3 - brake cleaner and paint on the powder dropper don't go well together, lucky for me....i noticed the paint getting tacky. lesson #4 - when you need to cancel that chemical and save the paint....the only thing i know to do that quickly is dawn and a damp rage, however....this stuff will show surface rust QUICK if you just sneeze on it....avoid chemical on paint, avoid water on anything, otherwise....wire brush, lots of wax...finally all good. Experience +4 now...let's see just how good hornady customer service is concerning the o-ring. on the bright side....put up some shelves next to my bench and have everything i have received to date degreased, lubed (waxed where appropriate) and ready for the next stuff to roll in. |
