Yes, stopped in and prices were almost insane. $2,500 for ar's, 223 ammo remand 1 dollar a round.
Reloading componants almost nonexistant. Depressed, hope it staightens out but wil bet it won't be quick. sdshooter ......... |
I feel ya went to one today as well. Prices exceeded insane when dpms sporters going for 3900 mini 14 wood stock were 5600. 223 brass .75 cents piece. Not much reloading anything some guy tried selling 1960s checker with same vintige drop along with 1960 data books for 750 for his reloading kit
primers going for 75 per k if tula no less. Somethings gotta give. But as ling as people are paying those prices they will stay stupid high worst part is people going use their tax return to support those gougers |
| Is it gouging if a person buys gold at $400 per ounce and then sells it for $2000? There is a finite supply of gold and AR 15s and gold is still fluctuating much higher than it was four or five years ago. The same thing will probably happer in the firearms market, too. |
| Not gun show related, but I was at my LGS today and saw 20 rd boxes of PMC Xtac M193 selling for 29.99 each. Pretty sickening when only a couple months ago it could be had at 7.99 a box. I'm just glad I got into reloading just before the madness hit and can still afford to shoot |

Sir, I've been to two shows in the last two weeks, one in Hampton, Va. last weekend and another in Norfolk yesterday. The Hampton show reported over 800 vendors and the Norfolk show was less than half that. The crowds at both shows were lined up an hour before the doors even opened, and the local FD restricted entry to the show in Hampton due to occupancy restrictions for a while. I already have my share of firearms, ammo, and reloading supplies but I'm always looking for good deals. Gun shows haven't really had any good deals for some time now but the prices I see for everything these days are outrageous in my perspective. Primers seem almost non existent, powder and bullets the same in the more popular variety and calibers. Factory ammo is being scooped up at prices exceeding $1.00/round, especially the mil surp stuff. I remember when Clinton was elected the price gouging by dealers was insane at the time but rather demur by today's standard. I don't think the furor is going to die down anytime soon. I would say I don't plan on going to anymore gun shows but my commitments as a VCDL volunteer keeps me going. Otherwise gun shows have become somewhat depressing for me. 7zero1 out. |
