I am getting a Dillon XL650 for free from a buddy of mine, however I have run into a slight snag with the wife. I have to be able to keep the reloader hidden when not in use, the reason being is that we live in a small condo and I will be reloading in the guest bedroom. My question is will it hurt the reloader if it is put on its side when not in use, this way I can hide it under the bed. If that is a bad idea do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

dont see why it would be a problem, if its possible could you mount it to a base cabinet. That way you can store it uner the cabinet with all the other things needed.

When your not using it toss a pretty throw over it and a vase with fake flowers whalla! room accenting LOL

For the most part it's a mechanical press, they're pretty hard to hurt. As long as the area is clean and dry you should be fine.

Now depending on the model there might be some parts you don't want it resting on, but that will be pretty obvious.

Put the strong mounted 650 in the closet. Does your wife "hide" her items when not in use?  The "show us your reloading bench" thread has a few members loaders stuffed in to their closets, laundry rooms etc.

I doubt it will fit under a bed, and would be damaged laying it on it's side unless you were extremely careful.

Press is made to sit on it's base, not it's side.

I would recommend placing a box over the press.

Or in a finished wooden cabinet.

Go find a wardrobe and keep it and your supplies in there.

Honestly what you should do is send it to me, and in exchange I will send you a Lee hand press setup that is MUCH more concealable

But honestly I had mine laying that way for a couple weeks while I reworked my bench and didnt notice anything out of the ordinary

Just put a lampshade on it and hope she doesn't notice.

Don't forget to empty the powder hopper (or tape the lid on!). Just lay it on a pillow under the bed!
