Congrats! That's something I've always wanted to do, but I've never dedicated the funds to getting the equipment nor do I have anyone to show me the ropes. Doesn't seem like it's something you want to learn on your own... Its not hard at all really. follow the book and make sure your specs are correct. If I could have got him to hush and move I could have gotten 100 done. :D he had the reloading equipment, powder, bullets, brass and primers he bought 20 years ago and did nothing with... |

55gr seems a bit odd for a pistol. IBTL or move yeah, we have some 124 or so grains (cant recall what he said) that we are going to load soon. Your photo looks to be 9mm, so those can't be 55gr. and this thread should probably be in the reloading forum. |

I didnt realize we had a reloading forum, such a big place. |

cool, thanks. now its bugging me as to what grain we loaded now... |

When I used to trap shoot with my stepdad, I would doubleteam the shotshells with him. He would crank the handle with one hand, put a wad in with the other, and I would put an empty hull in the other side. We would crank out 100 in a few minutes. On my Dillon I can do 100 in about 10 minutes... maybe when my daughter is older we can automate the process like I used to and really belt out some rounds. Or my cheapass can pony up the cash for a 650 and a shell feeder. |

115gr is probably the most common 9mm. |

He has them setup for shotgun loading when he shot skeet. but he hasnt shot skeet in 20 years but still wont break down a .410 machine and setup a 9mm. So we had to load each one individually on a single stage loader. |

115gr is probably the most common 9mm. probably right, I just know he likes to load them the hottest he can get per the book. I told him one down from the hottest load. |

Remember that different bullet weights require different powder loads, even with the same powder. You don't want the gun to go grenade .You might want to look into a Lee Progressive press for loading some quantity.

That made me LOL for real. I was just thinking, what with the "What happened to the SF thread", if this gets moved to the Reloading Forum.

No he was just being lazy lol Afterward I said "I think we could have done more if it didnt take so long to measure each one individualy..." "Oh well Ive got one of those machines that you can set and it measures out the powder the exact time each time, ive never used it but we can try it..." "I said yeah, that would have been nice to have used..." LOL well in the end no one died and they seem to shoot pretty nice. Going to load some more here soon. EDIT: it was 90 grain bullet with 5 2/1- grains of wst. I knew there was a 5 in there someplace. :D |
