| Well myself and another member were messing with my 1050 loading some 45. Had a stuck primer which resulted in me loading up about 20 rounds with powder and bullet but no primer. Neither one of us have a puller yet so is there another way we could get them apart that won't damage the bullet? I'll be ordering one soon but we plan to shoot tomorrow and load test. So I am looking for an easier solution. |

Hi there, I recently made a video demonstrating 4 ways to pull bullets. The last method requires no tools. I have only tried it with rifle brass however it might work on 45, unfortunately that case is so short it might be hard to get a good grip on it. Hope this helps.
At 8:43 youwill find a method that requires no special tools other than a reloading press. This may scar the bullet but is easy and won't necessarily make it unusable. This should work with a 45. At 10:29 you will find the tool less method that will not damage the bullet, 45 may be too short to grip, but you can try! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEBFwVyNNqg http://www.doaks.net/projects/videos/4ways-to-pull-bullets-embed-thumbnail.jpg |

for just a few or the occasional usage, find a kinetic hammer puller and use a shell holder to hold the case in the cap of the hammer, any brand of shell holder will work, even the ones made for the Lee hand primer don't use the spring or o-ring held jaws
the shell holder will fit in the cap and when you screw it down, the case can not come out. much better than hitting it then opening it back up and resetting the round into the jaws and hitting again. if you need to pull mass quantities of rounds, get a collet puller. so much fun you will want to screw up rounds just so you can pull them OK, not really but much faster and easy on the bullets |
