I'm experiencing a problem with my LnL AP where the shellplate is not finishing its indexing on the down stroke.
The only noticeable effect I can see is it causing priming issues. After I finish the upstroke of the ram and as I am letting the ram back down the shellplate does not fully finish its index as it bottoms out.
If I do an up, down and prime stroke as one fluid motion I sometimes am unable to finish the prime push because of the shellplate issue. To correct it I either have to let pressure off the handle for a moment and hope the shellplate seats or physically nudge the shellplate to its seated position so it lines up with the primer.

Let me know if you need a better description.

I always make sure the shellplate is tightened to recommended specs, free of powder/debris, and greased properly.
It doesnt happen every time but maybe 1 out of 10.

sounds like the down stroke indexing pawl is out of adjustment or broke.

check your manual and it tells you how to adjust it. it only takes very small adjustments to tune them.

if you need help locating them i can take a pic tonight.

it is page 17 of the manual

Thanks.
No need for the pic. I know where they are and how to adjust them.
I just wasn't sure if the pawl could be causing problem.

Mine was about 1/4 turn out of adjustment to make it run smooth every time...take baby steps.

I had this same issue when I first got my LNL. After you've tried adjusting the paws every which possible way and the problem persists, GET A NEW SHELL PLATE! It turned out that my first plate was warped and a new one completely fixed the indexing problem. Maybe you got my bad one!

Ive had the same issue, but it happens on every stroke. If I raise the left pawl to where it indexes properly, the pawls bind.

I talked to Hornady today, they mentioned the warped shell plate. It happens with all of my shellplates, ergo, my press is going back to Hornady for a once over.

Adjusting the left pawl a 1/4 turn clockwise fixed the issue.

Thanks for all your assistance.
