I have some 55 Grain FMJ Lead Core Armscor reloading bullets. Has anyone used these before? What did you think? Is it worth the extra money to buy American?

They should be fine for what they are designed for. I buy Hornady 55 fmj's in bulk so the bottom line price is about the same...

If you are needing higher quality, better accuracy bullets, you need a different type....then yes, use a better manufacturer than Armscor.

Armscor is close enough to American I find after remembering some WW2 history. They make fine blaster bullets, don't expect to win a match with them.

That is pretty much what I was thinking. I appreciate the help. I have been a long time handgun shooter/reloader and I am new to the Ar-15 platform.

Thanks Again

I found the accuracy of Armscor 55 gr FMJ to be patterns instead of groups.

Had better luck with pulled bullets.

I have had the same experience as the two posters above me.  They pattern instead of group.

Hmph. Ive got a few thousand of them sitting on the shelf. Looks like I should have ordered the Hornadys instead.

This has been my experience with them as well.
I have a bunch loaded on stripper clips that I let friends shoot at steel plates.
They like to shoot the guns and get feedback from the ping.
I prefer Hornady bulk if I plan on hitting small targets or shooting for groups.

Unfortunately I loaded 4K of them.   I only use them when shooting 50yds or less.   Yes they suck that bad.
