| What is the best reloading press, single stage, not progressive? |
|
Almost any of the big name brands make great single stage press options. My opinion is O frame trump C Frame presses.
I find the user is a bigger factor than the press. My Lee Classic Cast (Part of their 50bmg kit) makes some damn fine rounds. My buddies Rock Chucker makes great rounds also. It is fairly hard to screw up an O-Frame type single stage. |
| im in love with my rcbs rockchucker supreme. ive always said that if i decide to plunge into the progressive world, it would be a dillon, however i may lean towards another rcbs. |

I've been using an RCBS "Rockchucker" press since 1985 or so and have loaded a gazillion rounds on it so far. I keep the moving parts lightly oiled and expect it to outlast me. One of my kids will inherit it some day in perfect working order... 1DD Exact. Word for word. Even the year. The last time I counted up the tally marks in my "powder used" file I was over 140 pounds. That is a lot of ammo. All loaded on my RCBS RCII. |

Haha, you guys and your girly, off-the-shelf reloading presses! wow. that looks like it would withstand a nuclear blast! |

So I stopped by Cabelas today, I'm so glad they built one close by. I HARDLY buy anything from them, but it is a good place to put your hands on a few different models of a particular item you might be looking for.
That being said, I really liked the Rock Chucker, it was really sturdy and seemed like the better construction of what they had in stock. After having the hive tell me their thoughts and getting a good look, it was a no brainer for me. So now I will be starting a whole side hobby that has branched from the shooting hobby, once I told my wife what the new idea was, she replies, "OMG, are you serious, you are becoming obsessive nada paranoid doomsday prepper, you are going to blow up the house, and you fucking crazy?!?!! I'm gunna have to block that fucking website you are always on!" My rebuttle, "baby, I'm gunna reload in the shed, not in the house" She says, "oh, well, have fun. The life insurance is paid, so that's cool with me." |

Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge... (Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar) bla blah bla
Buy the best that fits within your allotted budget and do the maintenance to keep it running smoothly... it will likely last long enough to be handed down in your will (and be handed down again to your son, and again to your granddaughter, and again to...?) By then we will likely be using plasma/photon/laser weapons anyhow. Or maybe some other form of energy pulse weapon. For what my opinion may be worth, I opted to purchase a RockChucker Supreme as well, and so far have no complaints. |

What? That super expensive piece of junk is only made of Aluminum! Not like my manly IRON ROCKCHUCKER!!! Quoted:

I am new to reloading and heard great things about the Rock Chucker. I got to play with it and a Lee Classic Cast at Bass Pro and the RC felt smoother (both felt nice). It was more expensive, but I figured buy one cry once. I got the kit at Cabelas when they were running their $5 shipping deal for $305. So far, all I've done is deprime brass on it. Hoping to start priming and loading up rounds very soon! |
