Expect about 1 1/2 to 2 inch 5 shot 100 yd groups.

I would always get a couple of fliers to spoil a group.

Good luck.

+ 1
I finished my work ups with the same bullet and powder. The best I got was 1 1/4'' 10 shot groups at 60 yrds. That's as far as I can go at my private range.
Even including the inevitable flyer that's as good as it's gonna get. So, at 100 yrds it's probably 2 moa at best. That's acceptable for what I'm gonna do with them.

Mil pulled bullets ain't match grade for sure. Don't expect one hole groups. Just get 'em consistant.

Minute of beer can was all I could get and that's what I expected.

Colt HBAR 16" chrome lined bbl with 1:9 twist. Cleaned Oiled and 10 rounds of Lake City as fowlers shot through to warm the barrel and sight in on paper. 82 degrees overcast with 15mph wind blowing left to right (east to west) I set up a flag at the target to try and measure when the wing was at it's lowest before taking the shot.

Seems each group had a flyer that was off point of aim. All cases were sorted and collected after each string no signs of over pressure, cracked cases or necks, flatten primers of excessive carbon scoring. Measured with calipers (did not subtract .224 bullet diameter) I am not trying to duplicate an M855 round just paper punching general zombie target fun.

100 yards 23.0 grains W844 - 4.26" (2.39" minus the flyer)

100 yards 23.5 grains W844 - 1.79" (1.63" minus the flyer)

100 yards 24.0 grains W844 - 2.87" (1.53" minus the flyer)

100 yards 24.5 grains W844 - 2.56" (1.47" minus the flyer)

100 yards 25.0 grains W844 - 2.56" (1.93" minus the flyer)

Your 24gr load looks the best to me.

"minus the flyer"  You either shot the whole group or you didn't shoot any of it.

If you sort your bullets by weight and then by the appearance of the lead exposed at the base, you might filter out some of the flyers.

+3

This is the best I got from my 16'' 1/9 same powder.
Including the flyer

Do another set with + & -.2gr and see if it holds up.

For reference, with 3 x scope on the bench, with no bags aids or bipods, my colt will print 5 shot groups you can cover withna quarter with factory federal m855. My 6601 hbar is just as good. That should be a point of reference if you havent established one for yourself already.....

i just meant for safety. since Surplus powder can vary a lot from lot to lot. but at least your looking at your brass and inspecting it.

I have shot M855 and M193 through it at 10 shot strings for reference too.
Factory Stuff as well FC, REM, PPU, etc.

I love reloading though. So much more rewarding

I've found 24.1gr of WC844 gives me 1.14"-1.43" out of my 16" 1:7 Daniel Defense barrel. All in all backing down from the mil spec loading will show a significant improvement in 62 and 55gr loads.

I found my rifle likes 23.8gr of WC844 with SS109
