I haven't been successful finding a load/bullet combination for my Colt 6920. Started with Lee Dies, bought a set of Reddings, tried Speer HP and Hornady SP. Then I bought some Nosler 60gr Varmint Tips with a cannelure and 22.4 gr of 8208-XBR and a light roll crimp produced a 4 shot group under an inch and the best 3 shots were under 3/4"at 100 yards this morning. I'm happy, this will work. http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac325/tpcollins77/NolersVT223.jpg Congratulations. Good shooting! Is that with the iron sights? Don't change anything! |
| No, I'm not that good. I have a VX-3 1.5-5x20mm and I really like it alot. With 5x I soon realized I can't use the same 1" targets as I was when cranking up my varmint scope on my .204 to about 15x. I used larger targets this time so I could settle the crosshairs easier which might have helped, but I think I found a load that my AR likes. |
Congrats
I'm still looking for something for my BCM 16" middy Tried Nosler 69s, Sierra 77's, Hornady 75's, and so far all it likes are the AE-M193 55's from dicks, Go figure? Of coarse I haven't tried a different powder yet, as I have 8 lbs of varget to use yet, and that's what I have tried everything with so far. It doesn't bother me too much about the heaver bullets, because they are more expensive anyway. Got some Hornady 55's W/C, and 60gr v-max's worked up to try in it this weekend. Keeping fingers crossed
