I've got 1.5-2k pieces of .45 ACP large primer brass I'm ready to sell off. It's all been tumbled and cleaned.
Questions: 1 - How much of a price difference exists between once-fired and unknown? 2 - Do people want specific headstamps enough to make it worth me sorting? I have some that is known once-fired and some that is mixed. Various headstamps. Thanks. |

Wow, that seems quite low from what I've seen. 1x-fired generally goes for nearly that much per 1k pieces (7 cents/ea) rather than per 5k pieces.
I'm wondering if headstamps matter much and what the discount is for "mixed 1x-fired and other." Edit: Neve rmind, I just re-read your post and we're on the same page. Your "?" is supposed to be a "/". |
| The Shooters Source has a medium flat rate box of cleaned and deprimed .45 for $115 (I'm guessing that includes shipping). They estimate the box to contain just over 2k pieces. |

As a high-pressure rifle reloader, my first thought was that .45 ACP brass should last nearly indefinitely due to the low pressures and minimal resizing involved.
I also figured headstamps, assuming they're all decent quality, would be of little importance due to the large amount of empty space left in a loaded round. As such, small variations in internal case volume should make little difference to pressure and velocity for a given charge. But I also know reloaders like to stick with the familiar so if they've always used Winchester .45 ACP brass, then doggonit, they ain't buyin' nuthin' else. |
