A freind of mine was loading 230JHP in to new Winchester brass.
I have not seen any of them. He say that there is a bulge from the JHP.
I have had that at one time or another, but I have not loaded Jacketed ammo in years.
But even my leaded 230gr RN may have a small bulge as well.
He said the ten he loaded fired as fast as he could pull the trigger.
My loading things are packed a way, moving! So I can not even look anything up.
Now this new brass he is resizeing. Does he need to do that?
Sorry have not every loaded new brass. Brass Rat!!!
I told him if they are feeding in the auto. They should be fine.
But I thought I would ask here. If I had one I would post a picture.
So what does the hive have to say?

It's not uncommon to see a slight bulge where the bullet sits.

My 45's do the same thing sometimes. I figure it's from the cae and bullet not being perfectly aligned when the bullets are seated. I'd suggest he do as I do; shoot and don't worry.

Normal.

I always size new brass.

To me, new means never fired, not ready to load.
