[ARCHIVED THREAD] - primers

So it's hard to come across or justify buying primers right now because what I'm looking for I will have to order online and I'm not wanting enough to justify the hazmat fee and shipping right now. So until I do or find someone to buy with me I can get my hands on some Federal Match #205m primers. Are this the same thing or close to the same thing as the #41 primers the military uses. I've been using the CCI #400 primers and while there a great primer I want something to load hotter rounds with. Will this be better than the #400's ?

What else would you recommend?

edit to add I for the M on the #205 match primers and to ask are these considered magnum primers?

While I like the 205s better than 400s, they are more alike than the 41s.

We're entering another period of hoarding and shortages.

This is a good thing, in a way. My advice is to buy the components you can find now, and figure out to use them. Break out of the rut.
