| Im looking for some load data for the 338 Lapua. The books that I have on hand are a few years old and dont offer too much in the way of variety on the caliber. Id like to build up a load around the 250 grain SMK bullet using Lapua brass and whichever Primer and Powder combination is most economical without sacraficing too much in the way of accuracy. Any info is greatly appreciated. |

Any info is greatly appreciated. 87-89grs of H-4831sc, Lapua/Norma brass, 215Ms, 250gr Scenars, or SMKs and good for about ~2875-2950 fps @ 85*, 0' asl, through my 27.15" barrel. That should get you out to 1500 yds pretty easily and you won't be blowing through your throat, as you would with some of the hotter loads. I also like VV-165, VV-170 and H-1000 in my TRG-42. RL-25 is another worthy powder, but I've yet to load up the can I have here. I got in on the SnipersHide testing for the new Berger 250gr, so I have a couple boxes of that bullet coming in the mail shortly. Chris |

I load 250 sierras with 90 grains of ramshot magnum in hornady cases with fed215 primers. my best load is a 300 sierra with 88 grains of magnum with fed215 primers.
when i bought the used ar30 it came with 3 20 round boxes of hornady 285 bullets and they ewre shooting an inch and a half at 100 yds but my reloads are better and im still dialing them in. i havent bit the bullet yet and bought the high priced laupa brass and if i can get the hornady brass shooting any better i woht have to. these loads are not the max but there close so try lower and work up |
