on a small scale.  What do you guys think about the rock chucker supreme?  I got the money honey, not the time.

That's an excellent choice.  I started on one, and even since going progressive, the Rockchucker still has a permanent home on my bench.

You will always need a nice single stage.

I started with a rock chucker supreme.  Then, I added a piggyback to it.  Next, I was a LNL AP.  Then, I added two Dillon 650s.

I am using a Lee Classic as my single stage now.

I have each of them set up and cranking out rounds regularly.

I have the RC that I bought 30+ years ago still mounted on my bench next to the LNL AP.

If you buy it, you won't regret it.  It will last a lifetime.

I have a RC that I bought in 1976. Its still going strong.   A lot depends on what you want to load.  Rifle cartridges are a pain in the ass to get the case ready.  Pistol cases can be resized with a carbide sizer. If only for pistol Dillon makes what they call a square deal it is a pistol only progressive press pre set at the factory in one caliber you just crank out pistol cartridges in only one caliber.  For those of us who load lots of calibers  the Dillon 650 would be ideal but some of us are not fortunate enough to have one of those so we live with our old RC and reset the dies every time we use one.  Had I bought a Dillon 650 when I bougth the RC I would have saved enough time to have paid for it several hundred times over,     at minimum wage.

Depending on how to ou load, and how much you work your brass, you should get several loadings from commercial .308 brass.

I've got one lot of R-P brass that have 5-6 firings and show no sign of giving up yet.

Old timer with a low post count, welcome.

Rockchucker is a great press.

Up in Tutorials is a 4 part post on "how to load 223". 308 loads the same exact way.

Substitute 308 every time 223 is mentioned and you will see the whole process start to finish. Plenty of pics.

I love my Rock Chucker. Another place to look for a little info is The ABCs of Reloading. It is a good book with tons of info. I must have read it three times and still refer from time to time. Also the Hornady 7th manual. If you pick up the RCBS kit, you'll get the Speer manual with it.

For the price and quality my vote goes to the lee challenger press.  The rockchucker is another excellent choice.
