I've been saving my brass, wanting to get into reloading.
Was wondering if you could load .223 brass to 5.56 pressures? Thanks in advance. |

Yes, but it's more complicated than that.
My recomendation is that you learn how to reload first, using .223 Rem data. Study the differences between rifles for .223 Rem and 5.56X45 ammo. Consider whether a fast miss is better than an accurate load running maybe 100 fps slower. Learn about the subtle issues involved by attempting to load ammunition with 5.56 pressures. Then a little later, decide whether to pursue that goal. |

I have a friend who has been reloading for years, I plan on having him show me the ropes as well as doing my own research. I was just curious about the casings. Thanks again! |

here's an earlier thread on 5.56 pressures, but I agree with AeroE, as a total noob starting out to duplicate mil spec loads you're risking trouble http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_42/335619_Is_this_what_I_think_it_is__Official_SS109_and_other_load_data.html |
