So I built a work bench a while back and put a couple coats of polyurethane finish on some plywood for my work top. Nieghbor came overand told me how dumb I was, that if I spilled powder on it that the powder would eat right through my finish. So far I havent noticed any issues, but I am not a high volume reloader either, my question is if any one has experience with this happening or is this an urban myth?

Powder will have no effect.

Haven't noticed any holes in my finish yet.

Did your neighbor think you were going to light the powder off while it was on your bench?

Your neighbor gave you bad advice.

Don't use any loading data he may give you.

Thanks every one for your responses. As for using his reload data, I am still to inexperienced to load anything I havent read from a published source, I spent to much on my weapons to blow them up and/or myself. I appreciate the feedback.
