| I decided that I'm gonna start doing reloading as a full time hobby(have had a single stage for a few years now) and want to do some load for my Win94. I ordered some 125g Sierra JFN bullets. Neither my Hornaday, or Speer manual have anything that's in the 125gr range. they seem to jump from 110 - 140+. Anyone got any info for this? I got IMR 4064, 4895, and 3031. Any help would be appreciated. thanks. |

Any help would be appreciated. thanks. Speer has their 130gr FN bullet. That data should get you going. 4895 and 3031 are the powders I've used for .30 WCF. |

Any help would be appreciated. thanks. Some pics from the last batch of 30-30 I loaded for my M94. Using 150 gr bullets and BLC2. 
Cases cleaned, sized, and delubed, ready for trimming. 
Trimming, very important to have cases the same length so that the crimp will come out correct and not crush the shoulder of the case. 
Powder charging, look into every case. The powder level should be the same for every round. Watch for uncharged cases also. 
Seating bullets to mid cannelure. I seat and crimp in separate steps. Much easier than seating and crimping in the same die. 
I use a Lee FCD (factory crimp die) to crimp the bullet. The die in the wood tray. 
Crimped round on the top, seated bullet before crimping on the bottom. 
500 round batch done. Used 2 different bullets, so I put them in separate boxes. Since you are loading Sierra bullets, a Sierra reloading manual will have the data you need. Here is what Sierra 2 which I have here at the computer shows. Test case Win, Win LR primer, Sierra 125 gr HPFN; IMR-3031 start 29.8 grs for 2100 fps. Max listed 35.4 grs for 2600 fps. IMR-4895 start 31.2 grs for 2100 fps. Max listed 37.8 grs for 2600 fps. IMR-4064 start 32.9 grs for 2100 fps. Max listed 37.6 grs for 2400 fps. You will notice the IMR-4064 load stops at 37.6 grs. That's because 37 grs fills up the 30-30 case and you run out of room for powder. So start with IMR-3031 and IMR-4895. The 125 gr bullet is a varmint bullet, and not meant for deer hunting. Move up to a 150 or 170 gr bullet for that. Good luck |
