Is there a book or books that talk about how different variables effect the preformance of ammo. Like temp or how one load works out of a 1/8 16" barrel and not a 1/9 20" or different powders and ect., ect. I've got enough recipe books I want to know more about how different things effect the preformance of firearms.

I can't give you a first hand review as I just ordered it myself, but:

Second order effects in internal ballistics.  Even QuickLoad does not address effect of changes in barrel twist rate.  You can run a parametric study with QL and get an idea of change in muzzle velocity with barrel length.  Hodgdon has produced some data on their website that compares temperature sensitivity of various powders.  The military rounds like M855 have copious .mil research papers written on their performance under varying climatic conditions, barrel configurations, etc., but I have not seen all the papers collated into a single volume.

Have you read through the "ammo oracle"  and its various links over on the AR-15 Ammunition forum?
