I was given a bunch or reloading supplies and there are a couple 8 pounders of powder in there, most of them about half full.
One of the is labeled 9-C and is from accurate arms. On their website all I see is #9, nothing with the C. What is it? The other three are Benchmark, H110, and H4831SC. I figure I will use the benchmark for some 223/308 stuff dont know about the others. |
| The 4831SC (short cut) meters well and shines in big belted magnums. Benchmark is good 223 powder. I would email or call Accurate and get someone to look up the 9-C for you. Some others will be along to clarify H110 for you. Be sure none of the powder looks to have been blended. I do it myself but clearly label the fact so no doubt exist. |

Its a good idea to never use powders that are open and you don't know everything about how they have been handled, someone who might have handled them wouldn't know how important it is to never mix any powders, or do something else that could affect them. Open containers are an invitation to disaster and possible personal injury. Best idea is to use them as fertilizer on your lawn. |

H110 or Hodgdon 110 is a spherical magnum pistol powder (.44 Mag, .454 Casull, .500 SW ) that also is a fave for supersonic .300whisper/.300blackout. It burns faster than Alliant 410, but slower than Blue Dot.
H110 does not get along with .223/5.56, and there are pictures of blown ARs resulting from H110 being mistakenly used instead of H335. I'd contact Accurate about the 9-C powder, if it is just older #9, it serves mostly the same purpose as H110, but performs nicely in .357 mag as well (it will also be a spherical powder). If anything you can either hold on to the powder until you get a magnum, or get rid of it for cost of shipping to folks who don't mind the age in trade for value. |

I sent them a email but I am sure it will be a few days before I hear back. Interesting about the whisper stuff, I always forget how there is a lot of crossover in this game.
I have a 357 and a 500 I just dont shoot the damn things anymore, USPSA has made me a sissy as far as recoil goes. My 500 is in a Encore and it flat kicks my ass
