I'm looking for dies for 30-06 and .303 brittish and was wondering if I would be better off getting full length or just neck sizing for cases I have fired? What sayeth the hive?

If you reload a case enough you will eventually need both to bump the shoulder.

We could give a better answer if we knew what guns you were loading for.

303 go FL dies.

Lots of different guns for 30-06.

Get full length dies. They can also be used for neck sizing by not running them all the way down.

Full length dies for both, especially the Garand. I'd also recommend a cartridge headspace gauge such as Hornady's Headspace gauge set for adjusting your full length sizing dies to push the shoulder back a measured amount.

You can neck size or partial length resize with a set of FL resizing dies for the M1 I would FL resize the 303 neck size, you just need to adjust the die accordingly.   The 303 will be a whole different ball game as far as case resizing,a lot of that depends on the rifle in question.  Commercial rifles chambered for the 303 British have standard chamber dimensions where as the Mil Surplus rifle have oversizes chambers, repeated FL resizing of these cases will cut case life very short resulting in case head separation, due to continued stretching in the web of the case.

The problem with the 303 British Mil Spec rifle is often  head space, the case head spaces on the rim normally this is not a problem when shooting original factory 303 British ammo which isn't reloaded.   Because the rim is a certain thickness and the armorer has a selection of five numbered bolt head to select from to head space the cartridge correctly he can also custom fit the bolt to to individual rifle and ammo issued at the time by resurfacing the bolt face to desired spec most foreign and commercial brass have much thinner rim and case  thickness than the original 303 surplus ammo, Prvi Partizan is generally considered to be the closest to tolerance.

Two simple way to eliminate the head space issue and  extend the case life in the 303  is neck size only once fired brass, and use the rubber O ring method to form a new shoulder when fire forming your cases. http://www.jouster.com/forums/showthread.php?10515-SMLE-Headspace-Problems/page2&s=51714dd646de45a171589017122e3cbb
