OK, I'm getting some brass and bullets together to load for an upcoming event I hope to attend.  I want to get some use out of my 6.8SPC but thus far all I have loaded with it is the Sierra 110gr Pro-Hunter bullets using 25.0 grs of Re10.  These loads were developed for hunting out to about 150 yards so the MV of 2324 FPS was more than good enough for me as the loads shot under 1" at 100 yards.

Barrel is a WOA 18" SS with what I am sure is 1:11 twist, no SPCII chamber, don't really care about getting speed, more interested in accuracy out to 300 yards.

I have a couple hundred of the Nosler Custom Comp bullets in 115gr and a hundred of the Sierra 115gr HPBT Match bullets.  If you use these, what data did you come up with?

Thanks.

Excellent results with H322 here, out of a 18" barrel with 110gr....but that is on a  Kontonics with a SPCII. It is impressively accurate though.

28 grains H 322 will be very accurate.

This is the maximum listed in Sierra's manual and it shoots very well. Make sure the event you plan to attend allows you to police your brass. Many events do not. 6.8spc is a very expensive proposition if you leave the brass at their range.

If they don't allow you to collect your brass consider shooting .223 instead.

I made my first 6.8spc loads this friday, and shot them today.

I made 4 loads all similar except for 2 different powders and 2 different primers.

All of them shot around 2" except for the 2 loads with rem 7 1/2 Bench Rest primers.  Those loads shot .925" and 1.220" groups.  5rounds each group from 100yards.

Load 1:
95 grain Barnes TTSX
SSA once fired brass
29 grains reloader 10x
cci 400 primer
lee factory crimp (and lee dies)
2.285" COAL

(2" group)

Load 2:
Same everything except with 29 grains H322  (2 " group)

Load 3:
Same as load 1 with Rem BR  7 1/2 primer (tightest group, but also some pressure signs, .925")

Load 4:
Same as load 2, with Rem BR 7 1/2 primer (second tightest group just over 1")

It's just an informal get together... no issues with brass collection.  Thanks for the note though...
