i got some Tula SP primers in the Powder Valley sale. Out of the 100 rds I used for IDPA today,I had 8 not go off. Dents were deep and even double hits did not ignite them.
Anyone have the same problem with Tula SP primers like i do? As I still have about 6k more of them, I need to contact PV and see what can be done. |

There have been quite a few people reporting problems, myself included. This thread had the Wolf and Tula issues combined in one thread, unfortunately. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=42&t=335344&page=2 The cups seem to be too hard. Mine have lit off on the second try. |

I did an experiment with the cartridges that did not fire. pulled the bullets and then on my single stage. seated the primers hard. Then I put thme in my guns and tried to popped them. all but 1 went pop. so I went tothe bench and adjusted the primer depth to seat them deeper and did 5 on the new depth and tried them in my gun again. all went pop.
I think the Tula primers have to be pressed in deep and close to crushed to work well. Now i need to reseat all 500 or so of the cartridges I have left and see what happens. |

What kind of gun are you shooting them out of? Does it have any trigger work? I've read that they are way too hard for race guns. Be careful if you reseat loaded ammo. A friend of mine touched off a loaded .45acp round in his shop with a lee hand primer. |
