16" barrel, 1/10 twist, 115 or 125 gr FMJ
Should I be looking at faster burning powders like Bullseye, Red Dot, TiteGroup or slower like BlueDot, AA No. 7 etc I want velocity, but I would be worried that slow burners would push back the bolt to soon, since the 9mm AR has no locking lugs. Thoughts? |

I don't load anything but 147 grain cast bullets, but I have used 231 with good results and I am really liking WST. My load is subsonic and I shoot it out to 250 yards at man-sized steel.
Here is a similar thread from a few days ago: Anyone load for a 9mm AR jonblack |

| Commercial loads for 9mm tend to be a bit overdone-you'll get a lot more velocity out of a 16" barrel than from a 4" barrel with the same load. I wouldn't tinker with powder selection unless I had a full-out ballistics lab that included precise chamber pressure measurement capabilities. |
