I've never personally used one. I have a friend who makes a powder drain for them though. What I understand, it's somewhat of a cult like following....BUT, I've never heard one bad thing about them. Other than the company is gone these days, I'd like to find one myself somewhere down the road.
It's the original progrssive....or the one that gave the best results, I suppose. Supposed to be an awesome tank of a machine. They do have a forum with tons of info.

They are fantistic machines, easy to use, a pain to change cals.
Magma engineering still makes the loader and parts.
I have 2, one for 38/357 and one for 45 acp since the late '70's

I have a set of 44 sp/mag and 30 carbine dies, and it's just a pain to change them.
I gues not any more than other progressive press that screw in the dies.
As for grinding dies down and re threading will be a very big job, just too hard to turn them.  Just order the right dies from Magma.
Just remember, rifle dies won't work, just pistol will.
