so I had worked up a 308 load over the summer consisting of cci primers, 44.3grs of rl15 and 168gr Amax bullets it was working great all summer long.   Went to the range today and it seemed like it was struggling to light off all the powder in the cases.   Is this just the effect of the weather changing or do I have another problem with my loads.

What is the difference in ambient temperature?

Are you finding lots of unburned gunpowder?

its about a 30* difference in temps. Ive only seen a small amount of unburnt powder so far.

30* shouldn't make a difference unless your 'summer load' was worked up at 10* and now you're shooting at -20*.

What do you mean by "struggling"?  Do you find unburnt powder in the chamber/bore after every shot?  Were you getting ignition delays/hangfires?  How old are the components?  Did you store this stuff properly?

Same components I use.  What gun are you using?

44.3 is a pretty hot load.

30* changes aren't that much, I've had 30* temp changes in the last few weeks.  Maybe the rounds got wet? Bad run of primers?  We need more info on what exactly happened to be able to start diagnosing the problem.

I'm betting it's neck tension or if crimped a crimp issue.
