My dad as a RCBS single stage press that I have been using to reload .223  My question is I have heard that you can only use RCBS dies for a RCBS press, is the true? Are all dies like this or can different dies be used in different presses? I 'm considering a 50 beowulf upper and i want to reload but there are no RCBS dies. Which dies could be used in a RCBS press? Thanks for any help or information

Not true, all standard dies use the same thread, RCBS, Hornady, Lee, Lyman, Redding dies all use the same thread. (SDB and old Lyman dies the exception.)

Which dies could be used in a RCBS press?  Any brand you buy will work.

Thanks for any help or information

ok thanks a lot, i dont know to many guys that reload and the few I do, are the ones that told me all that crap. Dad was told the same thing by the guy at Cabelas that sold him his reloading stuff. So thanks for clearing it up for me

Read the FAQ's and Tutorials at the top of the page for more good info.

Also every reloading manual has a "how to reload" section in the front of it.

And you can always ask us.

The only exceptions are current Dillon dies for their SDB press, and some really old dies from Lyman that had 3/4 inch threads.

Buy new dies made since the mid '60's, and press on.
