Is it acceptable to use actual .177 BB ammo in your shot shells? I am curious due to the fact that it is so much cheaper than a 25lb bag of shot.

You can get 25lbs of bb's cheaper than 25lbs of lead??  I just did some quick research and found that for about 10 dollars I can get a 6000 round bottle of bb's, by my math that's a little over 5 lbs... so 50 dollars for 25lbs of bb's?

Well if somehow you have a line on some cheap bb's, I would say you could try it, but use load data for STEEL shot only!  For the record a .177 bb is really super close to BB size shot (.180)... derp, go figure.

Math escapes me sometimes. I guess what started the thought was seeing a bottle on a shelf a china mart for like 3 bucks. But, after considering the cost per pound I was being short sighted. Sometimes i fail to look at the big picture, thank you YZ for the reply and for helping me to see the big picture.

BB's are made of harder steel than regular steel shot and are not recomended for loading shotshells. Also steel shot requires special wads that are very exspensive.
