I would go to the website of the powder mfg and see what they list.

I'm trying out some W760 with some sierra 100 grain spitzer boattails in my 243 and, so far, it's still just a work in progress. Of the rounds that I've shot so far, I haven't seen much that has tickled my fancy to much. I started at 36.5 grains and the max load I made is using 40.5 grains of W760. So far, I've shot my 36.5, 37.0, 37.5, 38.0, 38.5 and 39.0 loads and, of those, I prefer the 37.0 and 37.5 loads the most. Even so, I still think I can do better than what I've done so far. BTW, I'm using a Model 700 SPS with a 20" barrel in all of my test.

My .243 page from the Accurate loading manual shows 70 grains is the heaviest bullet for which 2230 is listed.

It's too fast of a powder for .243 with heavier bullets.

I have an AR10 chambered in .243, and have good luck with Sierra 87gr. HPBT and Speer 90gr. spitzer bullets. Both are very accurate loaded with Varget.

Here's an update on my W760/100 grain sierra spbt handloads......

I shot a few more rounds today out of my Model 700 SPS. I put several 38.0, 38.5, 39.0, 39.5, 40.0 and 40.5 grain loads down range today and, of those, I preferred the 39.5, 40.0 and 40.5 loads the most. I'm out of 100 grain bullets right now so I cannot do any further reloading tonight or any more testing tomorrow but I think the sweet spot in my rifle will (probably) be somewhere around the 40.3 grain ballpark (+ or - a half a grain or so). Overall, I had decent groups at 37.0 and 37.5 grains as well but I still think my rifle will end up preferring the higher pressure 39.5+ grain loads. My absolute worst loads were at 38.5 and 39.0 grains. I don't why but, for some reason or another, I had some absolutely pathetic groups at those two charge weights.

With what charge and with what bullets? TIA.
