I have been using my Mec 600 jr to reload 2 3/4 clay loads that work pretty well....I set up and gather the components to load up some turkey loads...3" mid wall brass 1 3/8 #4 shot over 25 gr. of Unique....the process goes well until I go to the crimp station....it is collapsing the hull just above the brass..how do I adjust the crimping die to stop this? |
| Not familiar with the 600jr but my SizeMaster Mec press has to be adjusted out for 3" shells. You have to remove a bolt on the front bottom of the base column and raise the column for the 3" shell. You are moving the entire press mechanism up and not just adjusting dies. Other than that you can try more wad pressure to create more room for the shot. |

Looks like the MEC website will email instructions.
In any case, look just under the table where the hulls sit for loading. There are two holes on the column with a bolt in the lower hole. Remove the bolt. Raise the column 1/4 inch and put the bolt in the top hole. You may have to adjust the machne to make quality ammunition but moving the column up 1/4 inch is the first adjustment. |
