About four months ago I figured I would keep and reloading a couple dozen Wolf steel cased boxer primed cases. If for no other reason, I wanted to figure out how long they would last.
Yesterday - on their 5th firing some started to give up the ghost. Out of the two dozen - there was about half a dozen that had split necks. Each time they were sized and trimmed just like all my other brass. Overall I was impressed with their performance. They do not stretch as much as brass and take a little more lube to size, but they work great. If your in a pinch and want to make those steel cases go a little further ... pick em up. On a side note ... we shot a case of Wolf ammo this weekend because we didn't want to have to hassle with having to pick up the empties. I was surprised at how horrible the powder stinks. After about 10-15 rounds we would have to take a break because the gases and stench was burning our eyes and nostrils. Anyone else notice is with Wolf? I guess I am spoiled with rarely ever having to shoot it. Just thought I would share the above so if anyone else was wondering how long the steel cases would last. Sarg |

What caliber did you do your test on?
I have loaded 45 ACP and 223 Wolf cases. Wolf ammo does stink when fired. Anyone interested in loading steel cases, there is a thread at the top of the page in Tutorials. Here it is. |

IMO wulf stinks because, just like all the lead in toys made in China, it was a plot to incrementally poison our youth-dumb them down so we would be that much easier to take over, in a war. Well I guess mtv wern't work'in fast enough for them.
With the wulf for A dults, it's sump'in others in the mix, but I bet it ain't good to breath either, but it does go bang, and they are good about making sure it goes Bang.

Those steel cases were .223 rounds ... guess I should of mentioned. That makes a big difference.
Yea - I still have about a case left from last year, but I am through with it because it's nearly impossible to shoot in a class III weapon because you can't breath when shooting. Sarg |
| I have never shot wolf .223, but a lot of the 7.62x39. I have shot a lot of .223 silver bear also, but never have i noticed ammo to smell. But I have loaded 25.5 grains of varget over SS109's, and after 7-8 rounds with no wind I had to stop firing because the smoke came right back into my eyes and it burned! |
