Well, unfortunately I just got laid-off and will be moving to California. I have hunted deer primarily with a .280 shooting Nosler Partitions which have served me very well. As you probably heard, some brilliant idiot down south has decided hunting bullets cause lead poisoning in Condors, so hunting bullets containing lead are banned in "Condor Country". So my question is, what lead free bullets have you hunted with, and what's your opinion on their accuracy and effectiveness. I would imagine most have used Barnes, but I would be interested in some comparisons (Nosler's E-tip), Hornady's GMX, and others.
Thanks, Yak |
| The lead free law is the reason I don't hunt Kalifornistan anymore. I live smack dab in the middle of the so called condor zone in the south end of the San Joaquin Valley. My normal varmint gun won't accuatley shoot the lead free stuff, not much choice in light 25cal bullets lol. BTW don't get caught carring leaded ammo in the lead free zone while hunting, fine & God knows what else if you get caught. |

.25 cal is going to be tough no matter how you look at it, not a lot of selections to begin with. Sounds like an excuse for a new rifle to me. The Barnes "Varmint Grenade" is lead free, it's copper/tin composite. (only avail in .204, 223, and .243 though) |
