Well I got my Powerbond 200 grn RN 45 bullets in and was about to load some up but before I did I measured a few just to make sure they were gtg. The ones I measure came in at .450 and .4505 to me these are undersized because they are suppose to be .451 but this is my first experience with plated bullets. So, is this the norm on these and would they be ok and be accurate coming in at these measurements. Also if anyone has some plated 45 laying around and could give me a measurement that would be great.

My manuals appear to expect that.  Those that adress it suggest using lead data for plated boolitz

Expect what for the bullets to be a little undersized?

Contact the manufacture… Or TRY a few!

They will probably do everything you expect of them inside of 100 yards.

Measure the bullets with a different instrument.  Yours could easily be off two or three thousandths.

I working getting another set of gauges from a guy at work to try them out and make sure mine are ok. I did re-zero them a couple time and it never came out to what it is suppose to be the the closest was .4505 which would prob work but there were some .449 mixed in to. All of my 9mm came out .355 and .3555.

If you have some jacketed rifle bullets from Sierra or Hornady check their diameters, too.

To see if my calipers are right or do they have a prob being off also?

Check with a micrometer––calipers blow ass for anything requiring real precision(.001" or less).

As a check on the accuracy of your calipers.  If a 0.224 diameter bullet from Sierra measures 0.225 inches, I would not trust the calipers.

Just ran a check on some and they were .224 and .2235. So to rule out my calipers im going to go get a friend of mines and see what his say.

Try to close the calipers with the same force during each measurement.  Mikes have an advantage because they can be closed with the same force each time.

Well the mic is staying the digital calipers are going and a new set is on the way to say the least. Thanks for all the help. FWIW the guys at Tj Conevera and Powerbond are great.

Yes, sorry, that they'll be smaller than jacketed
