Well I am pretty familar with the whole idea of undersizing brass and the dangers it leads to with headspace.

What happens if you over size brass?  What are the dangers other than shorting brass life???

The reason I ask is I was sizing some 308 this AM and had everything set up working and all of the sudden it felt like it was dragging I took the die apart and the pin in the sizing ball was coming out and was literally 1-2mm from falling out.  The threads were all stripped out (Dillon is replaceing BTW ).  I took a look and the brass which I was trying to size to 1.620-1.623 (my fired cases were 1.6255-1.626) was now 1.617-1.618.  I don't think this is going to matter and I am still going to use it, I know it won't be as accurate due to this and it still is right at the low line on the case gage.  Just curious?

They are okay.  The dimensions you give show 0.009 inches of headspace.  Your Lyman gage was made to yield 0.008 inches, but I don't know if you bought another drop in gage.

This is for 308 that I'm loading as I just got a new 308 she shots so nice.  I got a dillon gage.  I am using my hornady headspace gages and givinig those numebers.  What I did is measured fired brass and came off that .002-.003 setting up my resizing die with that it would start out ok then all of the sudden something was not right and low and behold my dame expander was coming off.  I will have to show you Saturday.  Leave it to me to get the weird shit.
