Is Dawn ok to use to wash brass. Didnt know if it contained ammonia or anything else that might weaken brass.

dawn and hot water was what i used before the tumbler. It dosent polish the brass but it does do a good job of getting it clean.

Yeah I just ordered some LC brass that looks like it came straight from the sandbox and I was thinking of using Dawn before I put it in the Lemishine bath. Just wanted to make sure it didnt contain ammonia.

I use dawn , hot ass water a splash of vinegar and a 1/3 cup of baking soda gets all fizzy and clean. rinse well I've had no problems with the vinegar damaging my brass.

Thats cool. I have used Lemishine once in the past but I just wanted to make sure that the Dawn didnt have ammonia in it before I started washing. That would suck to find out after the fact.

Lots of guys like me have been using Brasso added in their tumbler media for years with NO ill results...

You guys act like you are scared of the slightest bit of Ammonia and I for one find that amusing as heck...

It is one thing to soak it in ammonia for a month but it is NOT going to melt your brass when used properly.
