| I am trying to set up my lee decapping die on my lee classic turret and cint figure out how to adjust the decapping pin down low enough to pop out a 223 primer. Can anybody help? |

Firat, and foremost, make dead sure that the cases you're trying to de-prime are boxer-style cases––the ones with ONE hole in the center of the bottom of the case. You'll need a good light to make sure.
Once you're sure that all your cases are GTG, just run your ram, with shell-holder, up to the top. Adjust the de-priming die so's you can just see the tip of the de-priming pin below the bottom of the bottom of the snell-holder. Your instructions should have all this. You can always go to the manufacturer's web site to read them, if they've been misplaced. |
| If heir decapping die is like their sizing die adjust the decapping rod flush with the top of the lock nut and tighten down good where it wont move in case the primers are crimped, then just screw the die down until it's flush with the shell holder, their should be enough pin sticking out to push any primer out and the way lee makes their decapping rods as long as the top of the rod is flush with the top of the lock nut you cant mess up and have it to low and bend a rod like with other brand dies. |

Did you mess with it at all when it first came? Mine worked perfectly right out of the box. Is the decapping pin extending below the bottom of the die? I didn't mess with it. The pin doesn't extend below the bottom of the die. When the ram is raised, the shell holder contacts the bottom of the die before and the pin doesn't do anything. |

Loosen the top nut, you will need to wrenches, one to hold the die and the other to loosen the top nut, its tight, but loosen the top nut, and slide the decapping pin down below the die, then tighten the nut again Alright, I will give that a shot. Thanks! |

Thanks! I had to tighten the top nut down pretty well when my dies were new or the pin would just get pushed right back up. |
