I went to my local Gander Mountain just looking around a couple of days ago and noticed they had CCI LR Bench Rest primers.I asked the clerk how much they were and was quoted $7.95 per hundred.I almost croaked when I heard that.Has anyone experienced this kind of mark up?

Well, they are the most expensive primer out there.  And, it makes sense that when selling primers in less the 1k amounts the price goes up.  So it is a matter of perspective.

The clerk asked if I wanted any and I said "no, not at that price".He gave me a weird look and I walked away. Can you imagine,$79.50 a thousand. He scanned the primer package so this wasn't just off the top of his head.

Just bought 2K at $40 per K. That was high for around here but I needed them and at least didn't pay sales tax or drive into town.  $8 per 100 is outragious ! Even the gun show guys aren't that bad.

Local store about 15 miles from me had CCI BR2s when I was in last.  Going price was $65/K which is $17 more than their price on a brick of CCI 400 primers.

Least people can find BR2 primers good luck with Fed 210M, 210M, or 205M.

My local gun shop had CCI small rifle primers for $7.50 per hundred.  That makes mail order look really attractive.

Precisely the reason I quit buying ANY guns, ammo, reloading stuff at Slander Mountain. I think they were at the top of the pile awhile back, shortly before November 4th,2008 I believe, in raking folks over the coals. They make me extremely angry with the price gouging ( not sure why but they do). They buy in volume and for the folks that know what they get some of their product for it's absolutely sickening.
I really feel sorry for folks that think they need to buy this stuff from them. Anyway, enough ranting, sorry.
