I have some 140gr Speer JHP, that I would like to load for my Derringer. I cant find any Load Data. I would think these bullets are for the 357, but would like to use them for my derringer. I have some Unique or Bullseye powder to use. Anybody have some info that could help me.

You can use load data for 38 Special. A Speer manual is a good place to start.

From Speer # 10, 140 gr JHP, Speer cases, CCI 500, shot in Security Six,  6 inch barrel.

Bullseye, 4.4 grs for 854 fps

Unique, 5.1 grs for 856 fps.

Good luck

Have you shot that pistol much?  I don't believe I would go after heavy recoiling ammo.  I have to hold on tight to keep those guns pointed in the right direction after the first shot.

Those bullets won't expand from the derringer.

I don't know how much you've shot the thing, but unless it's a bond arms...it's gonna be really hard to hang onto with any decent load.

Thanks for the info. I have a Speer #12 and several others which none have any info for the 140gr JHP, for the 38.

For sure you don't want to use that +P data in Speer #12.

Next time you buy bullets, get some lead 158 gr SWC's or RN.

Lots of data for those.
