How do you get sufficant neck tension to avoid setback on a bullet with no cannelure? I want to try some quality bullets in my LR 308 C  as soon as I finnish the break in routine. Been reloading for many years but allways crimped ammo for semis.
 Thanks.

With a standard die, make sure the expander ball is 0.002 to 0.003 inches smaller in diameter than the bullet.  You can also try sizing without the expander as it's not needed if the necks are round.

Brush excess carbon out of the case neck.

Load a bullet into a case.Use no powder or primer. Once seated, push the tip of the bullet against a hard surface. Push hard. No, push HARD!. Did the bullet move? No? No worries then.

With standard dies neck tension can be increased by turning down the expander button.

With .308 bullets, you want a .305.5 to a .306 button.

It's easy to turn down a button, you need a drill and 400 grit sandpaper.

Chuck the decapping stem in drill, hold folded over sandpaper on button as you spin the decapping stem.

Check your results often with a micrometer, you can't put metal back on if you go too far.

I seated a bunch of 75gr BTHP last night in LC cases, and even without the cannelure, there is no way those things are moving.  Cases were FL resized with regular RCBS dies and the neck measures around .222, and the loaded rounds passed the "press test" without issue.
