I don't think the GOV is into reloading for the most part.

I know of someone that bought some gov brass.

They wont load it for you so you have to bring a forklift or a shovel

Don't they send it to a contractor to reload?

I have bid on several big and small govliquidation auctions.  You will be bidding against commercial reloaders and reloading suppliers.  Good luck!

I watched an auction on 3 tons 15mins from my house when brass was cheap.
was just going to buy it for scrap metal and it ended up going for 2x what the brass
was worth to a scraper. it went 30000 over what i was going to pay for it.

To the OP, the starting bid doesn't mean squat. If you will notice, every single starting bid on govliquidation is $150, it is their policy; the ending bid will be a whole lot higher than you think. Also, this is old news, we all know that they sell brass, yes, you can buy it, some other arfcom members have bought before and sold it on the EE. It won't be as profitable as you think, and it will be a lot of work.

NO, the gov doesn't reload any small arms cartridges. They may reload larger rounds, but definitely don't reload any small arms cartridges.

It looks very tempting when you see the opening bids are only $150, but in reality the final price, transportation/storage and processing expense is much higher. In the end it'll end up being sold to a "big quantity" professional reloader (like GA Arms) or surplus brass reseller (like GIbrass.com). Someone who already has done this and can market it at a profit (isn't "profit" a bad word now?).

Then again, you might just get lucky!

I have seen them go for about $1 per pound before.. for 5.56 but that was just two auctions.  It can be VERY profitable if you get the brass at the right price.  I got outbid by a major reloading supplier on a 50,000lb lot.  According to my figures they made over $100,000 on it.  That is a very lowball estimate also.
