I have a Dillon D-Termonator electronic digital scale. It has developed a problem. It won't zero and I am unable to calibrate it.
I contacted Dillon. They will let me return it and get a $50.00 credit applied to a new scale. $139.00 - $50.00 = $89.00 for a new D-Terminator.
What I am wondering about is whether there is a better, more reliable and accurate scale that would be a better option.
This scale was new when I started using it. I haven't used it a lot and now it is unusable. Are all digital scales this shortlived?
I see Pact and RCBS make a digital scale priced at about what the new Dillon would cost me.

Should I go with the Dillon or something else?
I have an RCBS 10-10 balance beam scale that I can use until I get a new digital. I would just use it but the digital scale is so much faster.

If I were you I would ask them to give me $50 worth of store credit toward ANYTHING, not just another scale.  To be honest you already OWN about the best scale there is with the RCBS 10-10.  I would just stick with that one.  I don't trust the digital scales anymore.  Hornady says they will warranty my GS-1000 so I just mailed it back to them.....but it will most likely take them a few weeks to send me a new one.   I just ordered a Dillon balance scale to use.  Most likely I will be using the balance scale for my target loads, and if I use the digital, it will be for plinking ammo only.

Cheap scales like the Hornady's aren't a very good indication of what a good digital scale is like or how long they will last, try the RCBS scales, I have the Charge Master 1500 and Range Master 750 and they both work very well and are a step above the Dillon scales for sure(which I have as well).
