As long as it didn't get rained on and you don't have 90%+ humidity in your house you should be fine.

Sorry, once powder meets outside air it's characteristics change and it becomes highly unstable and volatile.  PM me for an address to send it to for proper disposal.

How long do you think it's out in the open when it's in the factory?

Even then, I'd still dry it out and shoot it for shits and giggles...

Smokeless propellants DO NOT absorb humidity, PERIOD.  Black powder is totally different.

In fact, spherical propellants (Ball Powder ®) are extruded DIRECTLY into water, it pulls the acetone/ethyl acetate/solvents from the formed spheres.  The water is cycled through a distillation apparatus to recover the solvents and keep solvent concentration low.

When I loading a lot of one "load" I may have power in my measure (the top is on but not air tight) for weeks at a time, allways go bang.

I would worry about age more than exposure.

I've only had powder go bad once. It was the last 2lbs. of an 8lb. clays container. They were loaded into my skeet rounds and ended up about 600fps! The powder burnt about 75%, smelled like ass, and left a green smoke. You could watch the shot lob through the air and it came out with a resounding THUD!

Sam, how old do you think that powder was?

Well, I had it for about a year. I used to buy clays 16lbs. at a time... Figure 2-3 months from factory to my distributor (local guy, special order only) stored in a humid basement in a farm house built in 1812.

So, not too terribly old, but ridden hard and put away wet
